The BluGuitar '61 Masterbuilt is equipped with the ST Blug II set from Kloppmann Electrics.

During the test phase for the '61 Masterbuilt, Thomas tried out Kloppmann's "Real 65" set, which was quite new at the time. Completely enthusiastic about this typical mid-60s sound, he combined the neck and bridge pickup from this set with the proven replica of his 1966 middle pickup (RwrP) from the first Blug set. Some fine-tuning for the BluGuitar '61 Masterbuilt followed, and the ST Blug II set was born. Thomas describes it this way:

"My typical Stratocaster neck pickup sound harmonizes perfectly with the beautifully mild bridge pickup and in the 2 and 4 positions these wonderful pearly inter-sounds are created!"
