Basically, the sluggishness of the Custom Control trimpots on the AMP1 is part of the operating concept, because they are intended for the sounds of the individual channels and their volumes to be adjusted once - also referred to as "set and forget" - and then ideally not touched (more on this here: Custom Controls and 3-band equalization - tips on handling). To prevent accidental adjustment, the potentiometers are designed as trim pots, and the sluggishness naturally accommodates this concept.
You can make the trimmers a little smoother with dry lubricant spray, but we don't recommend this - mainly because this requires opening the AMP1 and therefore voiding your warranty. If operating the Custom Control pots with your fingers is too fiddly for you, using a small screwdriver will help.
